Hello blog, I’ve missed you.

Holy cow. Busy pretty much describes my past week. So far we’ve sanded floors, finished floors, changed out the fixtures in the kitchen and bathroom, hauled some stuff over, picked up some patio furniture, drank some beers, bought paint, quarter-round, baseboards. We’ve cleaned and then dirtied and then cleaned and dirtied again. We’ve had one complete side of the family over and another slightly truncated version of the family over. I’ve had a shower twice. I’ve eaten well never. I’ve had the best local pizza available and some knockoff KFC. I’ve wrecked my ankle, given myself a blood blister and ruined one perfectly good screw. I’ve installed new locks and had fun with a chisel. Thought long and hard about buying a router. Chose not to. I’ve aimed to take an hour off work everyday to try to get a full day off without taking a full day off. Leaving at 4:00 always ends up leaving at 4:30. I’ve finished a CD cover, started on a website. I’ve carried hundreds of records down three flights of stairs while the girl carried hundreds more. I’ve reconsidered my hobby and still ain’t giving up on records. I’ve contemplated certain shelving over and over in my head for three days and still haven’t made a decision. I’ve looked at washers and dryers online and off and televisions too. I’ve narrowed down the kind of doorbell I want and searched around for Liquid Gold. And all of this is with the gracious help of my mother and father who have painted and sanded and cleaned and dirtied and cleaned and dirtied again. We will finally get a bed over there tomorrow and it will finally feel like we’ve got a home.
