Heller On Press Down

Steven Heller talks about press down type over on Design Observer. One awesome thing about working where I work is that there was a long period of time where all promotional materials and the like were done with press down or photo typesetting. Unfortunately, the photo typesetter is gone but I did grab all the press down I could find thinking that I would use it for something. I haven’t found that something yet and given my current frame of mind, I don’t imagine I will ever use it but there are so many fun things you can do with it and if you ever get the chance, pick some up and experiment with it. It’s a lot of fun.
