People with good intentions.

I feel so bad for the fine folks at Panic. I use most of their software (Coda, Unison, Transmit, Candy Bar) and I love every one of them. Just recently, they set up a google group for Coda, their all in one web development app and that’s awesome! I mean, it’s great that people get a chance to talk to the developers and voice concerns and query about features but the problem with this is that there ends up being some sense of entitlement that rears its ugly head after a little while in this kind of group. I’ve been watching it with some interest and I have seen it go from promising to just kind of rotten in the course of a few days. I understand that people have opinions and want to see features added but a lot of the things people end up asking for are things that may be entirely limited to their own personal workflow. There’s a lot of “TextMate does this” and “Dreamweaver does this and that’s the way I like it” and people seem to forget that this is a, what did it cost me, $65 dollars I think? And it’s at version 1.0.5. What do you want? I think it’s great that people are getting involved but come on. It’s a good program that will become even better with more development. If you want to try out Coda, go to the Panic website and download it. They have a deal on it right now so it will cost a little less. Oh, also, try out Unison. Usenet made all pretty but still pretty nerdy. You might hit on a great community that’s willing to help out with some of your, um, font questions. Have you checked out House Industries? My faves are the Sign Painter Font Kit and the Ed Benguiat Collection. Just awesome.
